Prologue
 CHROMATIC ballpoint pen refills are not manufactured. If you get NOS(New Old Stock) refills, it doesn't mean you can use it. Because the expiration date of the genuine refills expired long ago. Solution  If you have CHROMATIC ballpoint pen that depends on genuine refills, you can still use to your CHROMATIC with adapter.  CHROMATIC genuine refills is 2.31 - 2.32 mm diameter, 97mm length. D1 & C4 type refills is 2.30 mm - 2.35 mm diameter, 67mm length. CHROMATIC can use D1 & C4 type refills with almost the same diameter.   To use D1 & C4 type refills, it is necessary 30mm extend adapter. How to make CHROMATIC extend adapter Step1  When you make CHROMATIC extend adopter, usually you're going to need a 2.0-2.3mm pipe, rod or CHROMATIC genuine refills.  I bought 2mm diameter brass pipe. Step2 I can't recommend cut a pipe with pliers. Because that cut surface is deformed.  I confidently recommend cutting with a 22mm to 24mm abrasive cutting disc. This technique allows the cut surface to be completely rounded. Cutting length is 30.7mm - 31.0mm. (A little oversized) Step3  Then shave off the edge of pipe to 30.5mm, and removes pipe end burrs. I used 22-24mm diamond grinding disk. Step4   Measure by vernier caliper.  Adapter complete. Step5  CHROMATIC refills holder is too loose for D1 & C4 refill. So refills holder make a little dend.  It's tighten for D1 & C4 refill. Step6  Place adapter in the CHROMATIC refills holder. Finish  Insert a new D1 & C4 refill. F's Comment  Chromatic pen can use many type of D1 & C4 refills.  Chromatic pen can be used for a long time. |
